Councillor Sahota was joined by representatives from West Mercia Police, Telford Raiders Rugby League Club, Shropshire Revolution American Football Team, and Telford Tigers Ice Hockey team in supporting the campaign.

Councillor Sahota said: “Wearing a White Ribbon is a personal pledge never to commit, condone or remain silent about violence against women.

“November 25 is the International Day for the Eradication of Violence Against Women and I am delighted to be joined by local sportsmen as well as representatives of other high profile organisations like the police to support the campaign.”

The campaign is also going to be supported by security guards in Telford Shopping Centre, who will be wearing white ribbons on the day.

Men who want to demonstrate their support for the campaign can get a White Ribbon to wear from the reception at Telford & Wrekin Council’s Civic Offices and Darby House.
