Shrewsbury police appeal to feature on Crimewatch

Officers from Shrewsbury are trying to trace Robert Gamble, who went missing in January 2011 when he absconded from Shrewsbury Hospital and he wanted over drugs offences.

He is thought be living either in Brighton or Croydon.

Gamble was admitted to Shrewsbury Hospital on 18 January 2011 and doctors removed from his body a package of cocaine valued at around £8,000.

Detective Constable Alex Sullivan of Shrewsbury CID: "After his procedure, Gamble discharged himself from hospital and hasn't been seen since.

"Our investigations have found that he appears to be spending his time in the Croydon and Brighton area but we have not been able to locate him.

"We would like to appeal to the public for any information about his whereabouts."

CCTV of Gamble and a still photograph taken from his passport will be shown on Crimewatch, which will broadcast at 9pm tonight.
