Police are appealing for witnesses following the theft of red diesel from a building site in Telford over the weekend.

Red diesel stolen from St Georges building site

Thieves stole more than 1000 litres of red diesel from a pump at the Taylor Wimpey site in St Georges sometime between 5.15pm on Friday and 7am on Monday.

The value of the stolen fuel is thought to be more than £700.

The latest theft comes less than a fortnight after thieves stole thousands of pounds worth of red diesel from a recycling centre at Grange Lane in Redhill. Around 3,500 litres of red diesel was stolen, worth around £2,000 in value.

Anyone with information about the latest incident, or who saw anything suspicious near the building site over the weekend, is asked to contact police in Telford on 0300 333 3000, quoting reference number 119N 020712.

Alternatively, please remember that Crimestoppers can also be called anonymously on 0800 555 111 if you'd rather pass on information without identifying yourself.
