Attingham Park scoops prestigious heritage education award
A top Shropshire attraction has scooped a prestigious award for its heritage education programme.

Learning team staff and volunteers at Attingham Park were presented with a Sandford Award at Blenheim Palace.
This award is given to heritage sites for outstanding contribution to heritage education and is awarded by The Heritage Education Trust every five years.
After a tour of the palace award winners were led to the Orangery where Her Grace, the Duchess of Marlborough, presented the awards.
Jodie Furniss, Family and School Engagement Officer at Attingham said: “We enjoyed a fantastic day at Blenheim Palace to receive this prestigious award. It was great to be able to take two of our volunteers and learning team staff to the ceremony to thank them for all the hard work and effort they have put in to making each school visit so memorable to each child. The award has given us even more motivation to continue to provide a high quality experience for every pupil who visits Attingham Park”.
In the report Lead Judge, Eric Steed said: “Attingham Park receives its third, very well earned, Sandford Award. This fact shows that over time high standards of presentational skills have been displayed, within a framework of researched and investigated information, that have stimulated the interest of students of all ages. The high quality use of locations and artefacts, presented within discussion and the mutual sharing of ideas, engages minds and contributes to very satisfying experiences.”
