Save Baschurch Fire Station campaign launched
A campaign has been launched to save Baschurch Fire Station one of four retained fire stations within the county at risk of closure following budget cuts.

Baschurch Fire Station is staffed by Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service retained firefighters, who leave their homes or places of work at a moments’ notice to respond to a variety of emergencies, both within their allotted boundary as well as assisting other surrounding fire stations as required.
Campaigners are concerned over the level of service for the local area, saying the closure could lead to loss of life.
Baschurch Parish Council is fighting the possible closure launching a campaign at a council meeting on 3 June. A sub-committee was formed consisting of two Baschurch Parish Council Councillors, Paul Ridgley and John Lloyd, both ex Fire Fighters. Watch Manager Brian Welti was also co-opted to the sub-committee.
