Second phase of Hadley regeneration under way
Work is under way on the second phase of the regeneration of Hadley centre – a £900,000 scheme which follows the successful completion of the first phase last year.

The latest developments include the demolition of Gladstone House, a new pedestrian link to the flyover, the construction of three new retail units and the complete repaving of the High Street.
The three new retail units will provide a total of 4,000 sq ft of retail space all of which are pre-let to Gladstone Veterinary Clinic, a Polish Supermarket and Wrekin Housing Trust. The works are expected to be completed at the end of June.
Telford & Wrekin Council is in talks with residential developers for the sale of the Haybridge Road car park and the remaining Gladstone House units. The site already benefits from outline planning consent for 24 dwellings.
The aim is for this sale to be completed in time to enable the final phase of construction to begin in late summer.
Councillor Charles Smith, cabinet member for Housing, Development and Borough Towns, said: “I am delighted that the second phase of the regeneration is under way and already beginning to take shape.
“We are committed to creating a new Village Centre for Hadley and this second phase follows on from the successful opening of the first phase last year..
“The investment has been well received by local residents and I look forward to the new tenants moving in to the completed units in a few months.”
The second phase follows up the completion of the opening stage of the regeneration last year, which saw 12 retail units and maisonettes demolished and seven new units built, including a Tesco Express.
