Telford & Wrekin Council achieves White Ribbon Town status
Telford & Wrekin Council has been successful in achieving White Ribbon Town Status, supported through funding by the Police & Crime Commissioner.

The White Ribbon Campaign is a symbolic campaign about raising awareness of domestic abuse, and spreading the message that domestic abuse, in any shape or form should not be accepted.
The Council and its partners have been supporting White Ribbon Day for a number of years and wanted to achieve White Ribbon Town status to cement the borough’s support more permanently.
In order to become a White Ribbon Town the Council needed to demonstrate its commitment to raising awareness of domestic abuse and gaining pledges on the White Ribbon Website at www.whiteribboncampaign.co.uk/telford
Telford & Wrekin Council leader Councillor Kuldip Sahota said: “I’m delighted that our hard work and commitment to raising awareness of domestic abuse in the borough has been recognised by our becoming a White Ribbon Town.
“This award represents our continued commitment to raising awareness of domestic abuse, where victims and families can get support and demonstrate that domestic abuse is not acceptable.
“We have worked together with our partners every step of the way and will continue to do so in the future to promote change.
“I look forward to receiving the award at the end of March and celebrating our achievements so far.”
White Ribbon Town status will be officially awarded to the borough on Wednesday 26 March at the Visitor Centre in Telford Town Park.
