A man and a woman were yesterday convicted in connection with a burglary and robbery at a house near Bridgnorth.

Levi Diego Wilson, 19, of Cross Lane, Sedgley, West Midlands, was found guilty of burglary, robbery and two charges of possessing an imitation firearm whilst committing a robbery.

Simone O’Neil, 22, of Marshall Road, Willenhall, was found guilty of burglary.

They had denied the offences and were convicted at Stafford Crown Court yesterday following a trial lasting more than five weeks.

The charges relate to an incident at a home in Duken Lane, Wooton, near Bridgnorth on 15 July last year.

The court heard that at around 9.30pm, masked intruders forced their way into the home, stealing a laptop and keys to a BMW motorcycle and an Audi A6 car.

During the burglary, the occupier attempted to prevent them stealing his wife’s car from the driveway and was threatened with what appeared to be a firearm.

Wilson and O’Neil will be sentenced at Stafford Crown Court on 28 May.

Detective Inspector Pete Brophy said: “This has been a long investigation and I am pleased with the positive outcome on these two defendants.

“They were arrested and charged by West Mercia Police following a number of witness accounts and forensic identification techniques.”
