Work to install new water pipes in Bridgnorth gets underway
Work to install 500 metres of new water pipes in the Bridgnorth is due to start today.

The £60,000 investment will help to make water supply more reliable for customers in the area.
Gareth Mead, said: “We want to make sure our customers continue to receive a reliable water supply. Unfortunately, the water pipes in the area are a bit old and do tend to leak and burst, which can lead to an interruption in the water supply. The new pipes that we’re putting in are a significant investment for us and should benefit the community for generations to come.
“We held a drop-in session for local residents and businesses to find out more about our plans in May and we got some really good advice from the local community. After all, residents and businesses are the experts on their area. Originally we had planned to start work on Monday 14 July, but the local people asked us to wait until the start of the school holidays, to help minimise disruption, so that’s exactly what we’ve done."
Innage Lane is closed from today for around four weeks with a diversion along Victoria road and Salop Street. North Gate is open through the work, although there will also be temporary traffic lights for around four weeks.
Work is due to be finished by the end of September.
