New homes work starts on old Ludlow tax office site
Work has started on 12 affordable homes for rent on the site of Ludlow’s old tax office on Riddings Road in Ludlow, a development by The Wrekin Housing Trust.

Last week saw the building being demolished to make way for the new homes, the construction of which will generate 28 jobs and almost £4 million across the local economy.
The site will consist of eight two-bedroom houses and four one-bedroom apartments, which will be complete next year, going some way to help with Ludlow’s severe shortage of affordable housing and keeping families in the area that they may otherwise not be able to afford.
The Trust is working closely with Shropshire Council to identify local people needing new homes, and once ready, the homes will be let through Shropshire Council’s Homepoint.
Sarah Flaherty, Project Manager for the Trust’s Development Team, said: “It’s great to see work starting on this site. We’re working in partnership with UK Construction to provide really high quality homes for the people of Ludlow and it’s exciting to see the plans coming to fruition.”
