Telford & Wrekin Council is holding a series of drop in sessions to allow residents, businesses and visitors to comment on plans for footways in Ironbridge.

Drop in sessions on Ironbridge footways plans

There are repairs planned in the New Year for footways in The Wharfage, Tontine Hill and High Street.

The council will put up a gazebo and consultation boards on Tontine Hill adjacent to the Iron Bridge itself for residents to have a look at the plans. Samples of the materials that will be used will also be available for people to view.

The planned work is likely to happen either side of Easter with a two week gap for the holiday period. It will cost £380,000, which is being provided by the Local Sustainable Transport Fund.

Councillor Angela McClements, Telford & Wrekin Council’s cabinet member for Communities, said: “The initial feedback we have had has been very positive. We will welcome all views going forward as we realise this is a major project for Ironbridge.”

The drop-in sessions take place as follows: Saturday 12 December (11am-2pm); Tuesday 15 December (3-7pm); Thursday 17 December (10am-2pm). There will also be the opportunity to view the information at Abraham Darby Sports and Leisure Centre on Monday 14 December between 7-9am.

The options will be available online for people to view and comment on from December 14. Visit www.telford.gov.uk/ironbridgefootways

The closing date for comments is Monday 4 January at midnight.
