M54 eastbound work moves to the hard shoulder

Emergency work to replace damaged concrete slabs between junctions 3 and 4 of the M54 eastbound has this afternoon moved to the hard shoulder.

Two lanes of the carriageway have reopened following the repairs which have been ongoing since the end of November when the carriageway issues were discovered.

Motorists using that section of the motorway have seen lane closures and complete closures due to the work.

The recent bad weather has also hampered work with repairs overrunning.
