Faulty light fitting sets off alarm at Shrewsbury's town centre Boots store

Firefighters were called to Boots on Pride Hill in Shrewsbury town centre this afternoon after a fire alarm activated due to a faulty light fitting.

The alarm went off in the store at around 12.50pm and two fire appliances were mobilised from Shrewsbury along with an operations officer.

Crews used a short extension ladder and thermal imaging camera to check the fitting.
