Police in Telford are investigating an attempted aggravated burglary in Stirchley during the early hours of Monday morning.

Police investigate attempted aggravated burglary in Telford

At around 1.55am on Monday, two men approached a house on Chirbury and rang the doorbell. The residents could see the men on their CCTV system and it is believed the men were holding bladed weapons.

The men rang the doorbell again and kicked the door several times, causing damage. They were unable to gain access to the property and then left the scene.

The suspects are described as two men. One was believed to be wearing white Nike Air jacket and a dark scarf covering his face. The second man was believed to be wearing a grey Adidas hooded top with the hood up.

As part of the investigation, a 29 year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted burglary and is currently on bail until 4 October 2016.

Investigating officers would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the incident or who may have any information. Please call West Mercia Police on 101, quoting incident number 31S of 5 September 2016.

Alternatively, you can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or online. No personal details are taken, information is not traced or recorded and you will not go to court.
