David Evans steps down as interim Accountable Officer with Shropshire CCG
David Evans is stepping down from his role as interim Accountable Officer with NHS Shropshire CCG.
He will remain as the Accountable Officer for NHS Telford & Wrekin Clinical Commissioning Group, as well as Senior Officer for the NHS Future Fit programme.
Dr Simon Freeman will be joining the CCG as Interim Accountable Officer from Monday 10 October.
NHS Shropshire CCG continues to face considerable financial challenges and says that due to the scale of these challenges, it is now necessary for the CCG to bring in a dedicated turnaround Accountable Officer.
Dr Julian Povey, Chair of Shropshire CCG said: “I would like to thank David for all his hard work during his time as interim accountable officer. Despite the pressures and challenges we continue to face David’s leadership and commitment has left a very positive mark on Shropshire CCG.
“David’s appointment was always on an interim basis and it is important that we have a dedicated AO who can help Shropshire tackle our financial deficit.”
