TV presenter launches specialist dementia care nursing facility in Wellington
TV presenter Angela Rippon enjoyed afternoon tea when she visited a brand new specialist dementia nursing facility in Wellington.

The popular broadcaster, an ambassador for the Alzheimer’s Society, met residents and staff at Morris Care’s new Ercall Court.
The 11-bedroom ‘home from home’ on Holyhead Road heralds a new approach to delivering specialist care within a small, bespoke residence.
The leading Midlands care provider balances a range of innovative approaches tailored to an individual’s medical, physical and emotional needs to provide the most person-centred care possible.
This unique approach to care is called The Cedar Philosophy. Developed alongside the University of Stirling, it aims to reduce anxiety and stress and can lead to real therapeutic benefits, helping residents lead fulfilling lives.
Miss Rippon, whose late mother Edna was diagnosed with dementia, said: “Dementia is a huge challenge for our society and touches so many families. With one person developing dementia every three minutes in the UK, the need for ongoing research and professional support is clear.”
Morris Care’s Chief Operating Officer Sue Austin said: “We were absolutely delighted to welcome Angela as our special guest to Ercall Court. We’re all very proud of the Home and the team here believe it is a privilege to care for residents, treating them as individuals and considering every aspect of their wellbeing, not simply their medical requirements.”
