Clun Councillor takes sewage spill concerns to Severn Trent CEO
Clun Division Councillor Nigel Hartin has escalated concerns over a recent sewage spill in the town to Severn Trent Water's Chief Executive, Liv Garfield.

The incident, which occurred over the New Year holiday, resulted in significant sewage spillage affecting areas such as Bridge Street and Buffalo Lane.
While Severn Trent attended to the leak, residents and parish councillors voiced concerns over the remaining detritus, including sanitary products and raw sewage.
"Given the serious health implications, I contacted Ms. Garfield directly, urging for a swift cleanup and measures to prevent future occurrences," stated Councillor Hartin. "Although I have yet to receive a response, the area has since been cleared."
The spill has reignited long-standing concerns about sewage discharge into local watercourses.
The presence of the highly sensitive Pearl Mussel has severely restricted housing development in the Clun catchment area for several years. Recent proposals by Severn Trent to direct surface and foul water into the Onny River have also met with considerable public opposition.
Councillor Hartin has emphasised these concerns to the CEO, requesting clarification on Severn Trent's current position regarding these critical issues.
